Jimmy K.: How are you? Thanks for coming.

Geena: I’m great. Thanks. How are you?

JK: It’s great to have you here.

Geena: Thank you.

JK: Hey. Here how..I’m sorry now that you got impeached by the network. It’s it’s a D*** shame that that happened.

Geena: Well…yeah. It is. I mean, uh I uh, I’ve compensated for it by…I took home the oval office set.

JK: You did?

Geena: And uh, it’s in my garage now. So um, I’ve been shooting scenes in case…just you know… No but actually it looks like we’re going to be doing a two hour made for TV movie of Commander in Chief… on Kimmel

JK: Oh that’s great. Oh really?

Geena: as well and ah…

JK: Oh wow that’s great.

Geena: …I refuse to step down…

JK: That’s excellent. I watch this show and I enjoy it. I thought it was great. And and you…people…when you play the president things are different for you. Aren’t you..you had a dinner thing with with Hillary Clinton…

Geena: Yeah oh, oh God, yeah yeah. And also um I was in a charity event in Napa a few weeks ago and um and they raised like eight million dollars. I mean really big big event. And I auctioned off a walk on part for Commander in Chief. And evidentially Teri Hatcher had been their the year before for a walk on for um Desperate Housewives and it went for like two hundred and sixty five thousand dollars or so.

JK: Wow.

Geena: So a…they were bidding on my item and it was kind of fading out at about one seventy five. One hundred and seventy five thousand. So I took the microphone and said…you guys you realize we’re not fooling around here. I’m the fake president of the United States. And I refuse to leave here with less money than Teri Hatcher. (laughs)… So I got a three a hundred and five thousand dollars.

JK: Wow, oh my God, three hundred and five thousand dollars.

Geena: So now we got to make the TV movie.

JK: That’s right. You better or else they’re hurting their own charity.

Geena: Have to…yes yes.

JK: Well that’s something else. Now what was it you did some event a couple of weeks ago with with Hillary Clinton.

Geena: I did. Well she was there, yeah. Um. It was a reception for the first female president of Chile. Michelle Bachelet. And and it was her first visit to America as the president.

JK: Did you meet her?

Geena: And I met her. I sat next to her and I introduced her.

JK: (laughs)

Geena: And um. Ruth Bader Ginsberg was at our table like right next to her and ah and Hillary Clinton was at our table as well.

JK: Now when you played a pirate. You didn’t get invited to pirate type events…or softball…

Geena: I didn’t. And when I played an assassin, the CIA didn’t call and say…you’re really good at that… on Kimmel

JK: Ah huh, no?

Geena: But it’s, it’s different now.

JK: It’s interesting.

Geena: Well Hillary actually said when she spoke…that it was this weird juxtapose of…there was the real president, there’s the fake president, I might might run for presid…it was all sort of strange and…

JK: Do you, did you speak to her, do you know her well?

Geena: I didn’t. I didn’t speak to her. No.

JK: I hear she had a filthy mouth?

Geena: (Laughs)

JK: Is that true?

Geena: (Laughs)

JK: Now you have, you have a couple of little, three little kids at home. You have twin boys and a daughter. How old are the kids?

Geena: The boys just turned two and my daughter just turned four.

JK: And are they confused. Do they think mommy is president?

Geena: The boys don’t know what is going on…

JK: What president is.

Geena:…they visited the set everyday but it was just like why do we come to this other house, that is much bigger and has a lot of chairs.

JK: And no roof?

Geena: And mommy always has make-up on, it’s weird. At home she doesn’t. Um and they would just destroy the oval office and stuff. But my daughter did get that I was president. Oh I don’t know if she knew what it was but but she um she would come and watch and hang out on the set, they all did.

JK: Yeah. That’s great. That’s a great…And just also subconsciously to install in your children that kind of thing. They will always have this almost super natural respect for you knowing that they…mommy is somewhere in their brains was at one time running things and bombing places if she wanted.

Geena: Yeah (Laughs) But I was already Stuart Little’s mommy, so…

JK: Well that’s even cooler.

Geena: I think this is probably pathetic (Laughs)

JK: Now you a you…I always wanted to ask you about this. Cause I’m fascinated. I saw you bowling once.

Geena: (Nods)

JK: It seemed you were a good bowler…

Geena: Um…no. I don’t really bowl.

JK: I saw you bowling once though. Trust…unless it was someone who looked just like you…

Geena: No. (Nods)…it was me…

JK: It was you. You just seem too classy to be a bowler.

Geena: …it was another charity thing…

JK: Yeah, I was there. Drinking and smoking everything…

Geena: (Laughs) I didn’t know you were there. on Kimmel

JK: I was there…

Geena: I didn’t know what kind of crowd it was…

JK: …Oh I’m always watching you.

Geena: (Laughs)

JK: But um you shoot the bow and arrow. You tried out for the U.S. Olympic team.

Geena: Yeah.

JK: That’s incredible.

Geena: It was amazing. I took up archery just completely on a whim at forty one. And then um and then I made it to the Olympic trials in about two and a half years.

JK: Did that make the archers that had been doing it since they were children angry that you would stroll in…

Geena: No. Well. No. I mean, they were so welcoming and kind to me and because no one ever goes to an archery tournament except maybe…your parent.

JK: (Laughs) Yeah…yeah.

Geena: It is the world’s worst spectator sport. And um no, no press had known I had shot for two and a half years. Nobody had ever come to a, to a tournament.

JK: To see them? yeah.

Geena: To see them. But then they heard I was in the Olympic trials, suddenly like fifty news crews are standing behind my target. I mean behind me…not behind my target! (Laughs)

JK: You better be very good or there’d be some dead reporters. (Laughs)

Geena: (Imitating archery motions) Oops, whoa whoa, went the wrong way (laughs)

JK: Maybe that’s why attendance is down in the area…

Geena: (Laughs)

JK: …In the sport.

Geena: Maybe.

JK: Well congratulations on the show…

Geena: Thank you.

JK:…And it is great they are doing a movie.

Geena: (Nods) Thank you.

JK: Commander in Chief comes out on DVD Tuesday. Geena Davis is in it. Take a look at it.

Geena: Thanks.
