I am sorry for the recent lack of updates around here - due to my oldest son (8) having heart surgery, I arranged for someone else to take over this site. Unfortunately, it seems as the new owner wasn’t too busy getting started, and after some deliberation I’ve decided to take back management of the site.

My son bounced back an amazing five days post-operative, and went back to school after 8 days. He had a patch sewn in, after having been diagnosed with ASD as the reason for his recent asthma symptoms. We were aware of him having a heart condition since he was 6 months old, but he has been wrongly diagnosed all these years with “only” a pulmonary arterial stenosis, which we were told would heal itself as he grew older. Hopefully his asthma will be gone before long!

A little while back, rumours started buzzing about Samuel L. Jackson planning a follow-up to The Long Kiss Goodnight - this time without Geena, whose character would be killed off before the movie starts. How can that be an interesting movie, huh? Today, AHN brings the news of A League of Their Own director Penny Marshall being involved in the planning of two new baseball related movies; one on the Baseball Hall of Fame’s first woman inductee, and the other project being a documentary about the Negro leagues.

And speaking of baseball movies; the fanlisting for A League of Their Own is now located here at Geena-Davis.net! Expect more content to be added to it soon, like screencaps, fanart, trivia and more.

Sorry for the recent downtime and general problems with the site; we are moving servers and there has been a couple of problems with other clients’ scripts which have caused the the server to shut down. Hopefully things will settle over the next couple of days!

I will start this entry by blatantly admitting to keep adding a link to this site under the external links at the Wikipedia entry for Geena. I mean, with no official website, is this site not the most trustworthy site on Geena around? The user contribution based IMDb and the Notable Names Database (!) are left up, while Geena-Davis.net keeps being deleted? People are allowed to add silly trivia like how “Geena” appeared in a 80’s music video by Pet Shop Boys, while a link to a serious fansite with no paparazzi images and no gossip is not worthy a link? Grrr.
