ABC’s blurb:
“The Geena Davis Show” is a fresh, new romantic comedy about Teddie Cochran (Ms. Davis), a glamorous career woman, who finally meets Max Ryan (Peter Horton), the man of her dreams, only to learn that he comes with an instant family and a house in the suburbs.

Geena Davis showStory:
Teddie was living the life of a single New Yorker. Breakfast was a cup of Starbucks, take-out Chinese was her idea of dinner at home, a yellow cab was her car and her group of friends was her family. Then she met Max, a successful writer, and love at first sight led to engagement and living together.

Now Teddie’s new home is a sprawling house in the suburbs, her car is a big boat of an SUV and peanut butter sandwiches have replaced martinis. Her new family includes Eliza (Makenzie Vega), an emotional 6-year-old; Carter (John Francis Daley), an unpredictable 13-year-old; and their caregiver, Gladys (Esther Scott), who is rather dubious about Teddie’s qualifications for momdom.

As Teddie learns that being an instant mom is not going to be as easy as she thought, and that keeping a relationship sexy with two kids around is really not as easy as she hoped, she is determined to maintain her identity in the city. Her successful career as a party planner and close relationship with her girlfriends are still important to her. Geena Davis show

As Teddie’s modern juggling act begins, she’ll need her distinct brand of sarcastic humor and a lot more patience than she ever thought she’d have in order to help her balance it all. Back in the city, Teddie’s loyal group of single girlfriends are equally dubious, especially acerbic Hillary (Mimi Rogers), a serial divorcee who views Teddie’s new lifestyle choice as an act of sheer madness.

Geena Davis show From tv.com:
The Geena Davis Show made a strong debut following “Dharma & Greg,” even after all the recasting, renaming and retooling the show went through to fit ABC’s executives demands (the original version looked like a Sex and the City rip-off - which is understandable, considering that Terri Minsky used to write for the that show). Geena Davis was the biggest attraction of the show, making to the cover of TV Guide’s special fall 2000 edition, which also featured John Goodman, Bette Midler and Michael Richards.

Despite its strong debut, ratings dropped as the weeks went by and by March it was replaced by the new Joan Cusak comedy, “What About Joan”. ABC eventually brought Geena back to air the remaining episodes, but the show wasn’t renewed for a second season. Still, The Geena Davis Show managed to be nominated for Best New TV Comedy Series for the People’s Choice Award and Geena Davis also got a nomination herself.
